Ingredients
- Canned tuna2 pcs
- Canned white beans1 pc
- Red onion1 pc
- Lemon1 pc
- Olive oil2 tbsp
- Parsley10 g
- Salt1 pinch
- Pepper1 pinch
Instructions
- 1
Drain the tuna and the beans; rinse the beans under cold water and let them drip dry.
- 2
Slice the red onion into thin half-moons and roughly chop the parsley.
Tip: If raw onion is too sharp for you, soak the slices in cold water while you prepare the rest.
- 3
In a large bowl, whisk the olive oil, the juice of the lemon, salt and pepper into a dressing.
- 4
Add the beans, flaked tuna, onion and parsley to the bowl and toss gently.
Tip: Toss gently so the tuna stays in bigger flakes instead of turning to mush.
- 5
Let the salad sit for 10 minutes so the flavors come together.
- 6
Taste, adjust the lemon and salt, and serve.
Cooking methods
On the stove
No stove needed - this salad is fully assembled cold. If you want a warm touch, briefly toast a few slices of bread in a dry pan over medium heat and serve them alongside.
On induction
No cooking required. If you'd like toasted bread on the side, a dry pan at level 6–7 for a minute per side does the job.
Over an open fire
There is nothing to cook here, so a fire is not needed. If you happen to be at a campfire, the salad works great next to bread toasted over the embers.
