Cooking methods

On the stove

No heat needed for the dish itself. Pumpkin seeds do get better with 2–3 minutes in a dry pan over medium heat - they're done when they start to pop and smell nutty.

On induction

Nothing to cook. To toast the pumpkin seeds, use a dry pan at level 5–6 for 2 minutes, shaking often; induction gets hot quickly, so don't walk away.

Over an open fire

A cold dish - no fire required. Over embers, the seeds toast in about a minute in a dry pan on a grate; everything else stays raw and fresh.
